One of the few rare songs I've written on my first language (on Serbian).
Sorry to those that don't understand it...but here's some sort of translation for it,
these aren't just ruins,
or old faded wrecks,
they're not just memories,
Confined within the walls of silence.
it isn't just a reminder,
signs of a violent past
but still rises as monument
As a sign of the constant struggle and perseverance.
it's standing proudly,
Although destroyed by hatred and wars,
slowly catching up with time, the change is getting closer.
And proud of everything, both defeats and victories.
still is slowly collapsing.
But this fighting spirit continues to live,
and we'll never let it fully break down,
as long as there's blue firmament above us.
It's not the best translation, I know, but it's the best I came up with so yeah
And yeah, the English version doesn't rhyme at all, kinda sucks how I always lose that in translation but oh well..
Though I'd say it's enough to be able to get the point, and that was kind of my goal when translating it in the first place.
Oh and, well this is simply my view on this city
and yes of course, I'm speaking of my city, my hometown, my dear Belgrade.
