Moment when the world stopped spinning, even though it continued to

His sight overlapped with her's, through the wind that was blowing with such intensity, as if it was trying to take away each memory they held in their hearts and souls. There was something mysterious and hidden in his eyes, they looked frightening, but yet she wasn't afraid. Like they were glowing with darkness. But she could still see there was something beneath that coldness around him, the coldness he always carried with him. As a shield, as a friend, as an enemy from within, like a dark cloud that always followed him around, and would never leave his sight. Emotionless, without an expression, he looked back into hers. And there, a spark appeared in his eyes. A tiny opal surrounded by coal, that made it's way out of all that dirt. Through dimness and duskiness, it shone through. The dark clouds were still there, but his sight was clearer. They weren't filled with hatred liked others' were. Nor self pity and helplessness; the way the rest of the broken ones' were. They weren't prideful. They didn't show regret. They were empty but still full, of something buried between the past and lost dreams; lost somewhere along the way of trying to find something more. More to live for. To be. To dream of. To die for.
Her mind was expurgated, as she looked at her own reflection in his eyes. And all the words in the world were useless. The brumous air seemed like it was trying to take her breath away, silently, just like her lips were. While she stood there, undone and lost in her thoughts and the gloss of his eyes. As if she was waiting for him to act, but it was like the time stood still. With toxic air pulling words out of their throats and quieting them completely. Burning them from the inside out. She just stood there, numb. And she saw herself in his eyes, but she didn't see herself in him. He was the other side of the moon, which our eyes couldn't reach. Yet it was like they held something just the same inside both of them. Some buried pain, or fear, or an old memory that was already vanishing. As they gazed at each other's eyes, the wind kept blowing and the world kept spinning; but they were trapped in that moment, like in an invisible cage. It wasn't wonderful or great. And yet, they still stood there. Paralysed.
And he wasn't hers, and she wasn't his, but in that moment nothing was anyone's, as they both dreamt that the world had belonged to them.
Pure fiction. I love short stories, and lots of descriptions and metaphors so this is a product of that. :D

If there are mistakes in the grammar or spelling, or anything else really, please let me know. I hope it's grammatically correct at least, because I know my English isn't the best. And I'm always trying to improve it. :w00t:

So let me know what you people think? or something ^^; Feedback is always appreciated! :thanks:

It's strangely romantic. Even though nothing happened & no words were said it still was. I find that really awesome. Like two strangers who happen to see each other but then continue on anyway. & it's true. Seeing is one thing but what u can feel & what u can't see is always better. :)
